Mommy, Me & Espanol Makes 3

Toddler Bilingual Basics

Yes, You Can Have a Bilingual Toddler. I have 3!

Did you know that you can have a bilingual baby from birth? That even before they start to talk, babies are absorbing everything, including languages. The easiest way to raise your kids bilingually is to introduce languages to them early, when they are a baby if possible.

It can be difficult to raise a bilingual child, but the benefits of learning a second language at an early age are certainly worth the struggle.

Bilingual children learn faster and easier, have improved problem solving skills and creativity, and have more career opportunities in adulthood. They also find it easier to connect with other cultures which makes them more open-minded and tolerant of diversity. Most importantly, study's show that it’s much easier to learn a second language at an early age.

The first step to teaching your toddler a foreign language is "commitment" period. A parent must be firmly committed to the long term idea of raising their toddler to become bilingual, even if the child is not. It is a long and challenging road, but the rewards your child will experience will be immeasurable.

Our Toddler Bilingual Basics program focuses on children ages 2-4 years old by engaging them in activities that children typically love. It makes language learning more enjoyable and your child will open up and learn better when they are having fun.

READING

Exposing kids to books that they can interact with is a great way for them to begin to learn Spanish by matching pictures and words.

MUSIC

One of the best ways to learn Spanish is by listening to children's music. Same songs they listen to in English but in Spanish. Kids can't resist playing maracas.

VOCABULARY

Vocabulary is a fundamental building block for learning Spanish. Engaging children by playing pointing and naming objects games is always fun.

DANCE

All kids like to dance and their little faces light up when spinning around the room to music.  Dance around to Spanish children's music and sing along.

"There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots. The other is wings"                      Hodding Carter Jr.

"You can't make your child speak a language. However you can set the stage so they will want to speak it"                             The Bilingual Edge

"Like stars are to the sky, so are our children. Learning a language will make them shine brighter"           Spanish Immersion Tutoring
